About Us

Our Method
Fleetwood Mac Rumours

First, we hand-draw a design that we feel best captures the artis/song/album they are known for. For instance our Fleetwood Mac piece is shaped like the "Rumours" album cover. it IS one of the best selling albums of the 70's so that slightly odd cover photo is ingrained into our collective consciousness.

Second, we transfer the final draft design onto a piece of metal to use as a template.

Once we have the template we proceed to our third step- we bolt down the record onto a heated base plate and use a modified Dremel-like tool to hand cut the piece using the metal template as guidance.

For the fourth and final step we use a fine grain sandpaper to clean up the various burrs and rough edges that remain after cutting. We then mount the finished piece on a sturdy backing paper, put it in a thick plastic sleeve and send it out to you to give it a good home!

Our Philosophy
...

We prefer to make our art out of the actual records because they mean so much more to true fans. When you know te album was bought at a store in the mall in the 70's and brought home to where an actual stero needle skimmed these actual grooves countless times, it adds so much more appreciation to the artwork!

We feel that this instills a certain soul into the vinyl even before we add our creative touch to it.

...

That Beatles album? Jane played "Let it Be" over and over agoin the day after her father passed away.

That Rocky soundtrack? Mark played both sides repeatedly when he was lifting weights in the basement to get in shape to make te football team.

That Meatload album? Howie played "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" over and over for weeks after breaking up with his girlfriend of 2 years.

The point is, these records were the soundtracks of peoples' lives which we feel makes our artwork even more authentic!

On the other hand...

If you're a bit short on scratch at the moment, we won't hold it against you for purchasing our "relabeled" option. We'll do the same great sculpting job we normally do, but we'll design and affix the appropriate musical artist labels made with specially manufactured, super-adhesive material. You'll get the genuine look at a lower price (he, we don't have to buy the actual record!) with the added bonus that the label won't hae the "nicked" or "weathered" look that some of the authentic albums have!
